The strategy families

What kind of trades the systems make

Every system belongs to a family: the way it combines options. From the simplest, a single option, to the ones with protection.

A single option

  • Sell Put

    Basic

You collect a premium by committing to buy the stock at a price below today’s. You gain if the price stays above that level; if it collapses, the loss can be large.

    4,974 systems on 20 markets · 76% in profit

  • Sell Call

    Basic

You collect a premium by committing to sell the stock at a price above today’s. You gain if the price stays below that level; if it rallies hard, the loss has no ceiling.

    4,903 systems on 20 markets · 23% in profit

  • Buy Put

    Basic

You pay a premium for the right to sell at a set price. You gain if the price falls far enough; the most you can lose is the premium you paid.

    512 systems on 20 markets · 19% in profit

  • Buy Call

    Basic

You pay a premium for the right to buy at a set price. You gain if the price rises far enough; the most you can lose is the premium you paid.

    497 systems on 20 markets · 65% in profit

You collect a premium, with or without protection

  • Short Strangle

    Advanced

You sell a put below the price and a call above it. You collect two premiums and gain if the price stays between the two levels; if it breaks out hard on one side, the loss can be large.

    803 systems on 20 markets · 49% in profit

  • Short Iron Condor

    Advanced

A sold strangle with two protections further out. You gain if the price stays within a range; the largest possible loss is known from the start.

    202 systems on 20 markets · 10% in profit

  • Short Call Vertical Spread

    Intermediate

You sell a call and buy another one higher up as protection. You gain if the price stays below the level; you collect less, but the largest possible loss is known from the start.

    201 systems on 20 markets · 6% in profit

  • Short Put Vertical Spread

    Intermediate

You sell a put and buy another one lower down as protection. You gain if the price stays above the level; you collect less, but the largest possible loss is known from the start.

    201 systems on 20 markets · 36% in profit

You pay a premium, the risk is capped

  • Long Strangle

    Advanced

You buy a put below the price and a call above it. You gain if the price moves hard, in either direction; the most you can lose is the two premiums you paid.

    387 systems on 20 markets · 38% in profit

  • Long Call Vertical Spread

    Intermediate

You buy a call and sell another one higher up to pay less. You gain if the price rises, up to a cap; the most you can lose is what you paid.

    201 systems on 20 markets · 64% in profit

  • Long Put Vertical Spread

    Intermediate

You buy a put and sell another one lower down to pay less. You gain if the price falls, up to a cap; the most you can lose is what you paid.

    201 systems on 20 markets · 19% in profit

  • Long Iron Condor

    Advanced

The reverse of the one above: you pay to gain if the price leaves the range, in either direction; the most you can lose is what you paid.

    20 systems on 20 markets · 60% in profit

How to read these numbers

What they count, and what they don’t

  • A system is one strategy measured on one market, from the start of the data to today, with fixed rules.
  • Monthly systems open one trade a month, weekly ones one a week. All of them enter on percentile limits: price levels that history has rarely crossed.
  • We publish the systems that lost too. “In profit” means the system closed the whole period above zero: 6,153 out of 13,102.
  • 12,778 of 13,102 systems are measured on at least 30 trades. Below that a result says little, and the platform flags it.
  • The library was last updated on July 12, 2026.
